AKR Marketing Designs

The AKR Engineering Standards

The principles that guide every decision we make.

These are not aspirational values posted on a wall. They are the operating rules we hold ourselves to on every project — including our own website. When you hire AKR, these are the standards your website is built against.

The digital marketing industry has a credibility problem. Agencies overpromise, underdeliver, and move on. Clients get burned by guaranteed rankings that never materialize, fake reviews that damage trust, and websites built for show rather than performance.

AKR was built to be the opposite of that. These twelve principles are how we operationalize that commitment — on every project, without exception.

Twelve Principles

How we build. What we refuse to do. And why.

Every project at AKR Marketing Designs is evaluated against these principles before it ships. No exceptions.

01.

Customer before algorithms

We optimize first for human readers. Search engines and AI systems reward content written for people — not content engineered to manipulate rankings. Every page we build must first serve the person reading it. If a recommendation is good for a search engine but confusing to a human, we don't make it.

02.

Trust before traffic

Volume means nothing if visitors don't trust what they find. A website with lower traffic and higher credibility consistently outperforms a high-traffic site that cannot convert. Every page AKR builds is designed to earn confidence before it asks for anything from the visitor.

03.

Clarity before complexity

If a customer has to work to understand what your business does, what it costs, and how to contact you, you have already lost them. We eliminate ambiguity at every step — in navigation, in headlines, in calls to action, and in every piece of content we write or recommend.

04.

Accessibility before aesthetics

A visually impressive website that cannot be used by someone with a disability, browsed with a screen reader, or navigated by keyboard is an incomplete website. Accessibility is not optional and it is not an afterthought. We build it in from day one, to WCAG 2.2 AA standards.

05.

Quality before speed

We will not rush production at the expense of accuracy, structure, professional standards, or honest representation. A website launched with errors, missing structure, or weak content does more harm than good. We move as fast as quality allows — no faster.

06.

Preserve what already works

We do not remove ranking pages, effective content, or established links without documented justification. SEO equity is hard to build and easy to destroy. Every removal, redirect, and restructure is deliberate, documented, and justified with evidence before implementation.

07.

Every page must earn its existence

No filler. No orphan pages. No content that exists because the CMS made it easy to create. Every URL must serve a defined purpose — ranking for a specific search, converting a specific audience, or supporting the authority of the overall site. If it serves no purpose, it gets removed or consolidated.

08.

Every button must have a purpose

No decorative CTAs. No vague 'learn more' links that go nowhere meaningful. No forms that submit to an inbox nobody monitors. Every interactive element on a page AKR builds is connected to a clear, intended outcome — for the visitor and for the business.

09.

Every recommendation must have evidence

We don't guess. We audit, document, and explain every change we propose. If we tell you to add a page, we explain why. If we tell you to remove one, we show the data. Our clients are not expected to take our word for it — we show our work, every time.

10.

Never fabricate authority

No fake reviews. No manufactured credentials. No inflated claims about results we cannot verify. No invented case studies. Authority is earned through documented work, real client outcomes, and honest representation. This is a hard limit with no exceptions.

11.

Never promise rankings

Search engine positions are determined by algorithms we do not control. Any agency that promises to rank you #1 on Google is either lying or setting expectations they cannot keep. We build the conditions for stronger visibility. We report what we observe. We do not promise what we cannot guarantee.

12.

Never promise AI recommendations

No company controls how AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Perplexity, or any other system cite or surface specific businesses. We build content that is clear, structured, authoritative, and credible — which improves the conditions for AI visibility. We will never promise that any AI system will recommend your business.

Zero Exceptions

What AKR will never do

These are not guidelines. They are hard limits. If a client requests any of these, we will decline and explain why. No amount of pressure or compensation changes this.

  • Purchase or fabricate reviews or testimonials of any kind
  • Create fake backlinks or participate in manipulative link schemes
  • Use keyword stuffing, cloaking, or hidden text techniques
  • Promise specific search ranking positions or AI citations
  • Misrepresent or exaggerate client results or outcomes
  • Submit duplicate content across domains to inflate apparent authority
  • Build doorway pages, deceptive redirects, or thin content at scale
  • Misuse structured data or schema markup to mislead search systems
