Every quarter, AKR Marketing Designs donates a complete professional website build — at no cost — to a veteran- or first-responder-owned local trades or service business. No invoices. No contracts. Just a fully built, lead-generating website delivered and handed over.
Who Qualifies
Built for those who showed up when it counted.
The AKR Heroes Program is for owner-operated local trades and service businesses run by veterans of the U.S. military or active/retired first responders — police, fire, EMS, paramedics, or 911 dispatchers.
Military Veterans
U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force — active, reserve, or retired.
First Responders
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, or 911 dispatchers — active or retired.
Trades & Services
Contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, auto repair, landscaping, and similar service businesses.
What's Included
A real website. Not a template.
The winning business receives the same complete website build AKR delivers to paying clients — no corners cut, no watered-down version.
Ongoing hosting, maintenance, and monthly marketing are not included in the donation — but the business receives the completed site with no obligation to purchase anything further.
How It Works

Nominate
Submit a nomination using the contact form. Tell us about the business owner and what they do.
Review
AKR reviews nominations each quarter and selects one business that meets the program criteria.
Build
We reach out to the selected business, gather what we need, and build the website — at no cost.
Hand Over
The completed site is delivered and handed to the owner. They own it entirely.
Why we do this.
AKR Marketing Designs is a patriot company. Robert Carey served as a Red Cross director during 9/11, supporting 110 National Guard members deployed to the crisis. That experience shaped everything about how we work. We believe the people who ran toward danger — on the battlefield or in the street — deserve to build successful businesses when they come home.
A professional website shouldn't be out of reach for someone who served. This program is our small way of making sure it isn't.
