The Founder's Story
Meet Robert Carey
Robert Carey is the founder of AKR Marketing Designs and the creator of the AKR Digital Authority Engine™ — a six-phase framework for making small service businesses discoverable, credible, and conversion-ready for search engines, AI systems, and the customers who use both.
He has spent more than 30 years on the ground, inside real businesses — not behind a desk. He travels to three or four cities every single week, sitting across from owners who built something with their hands and their grit, and helping them figure out what's not working and how to fix it. He is also the founder of South Florida Trim Clinic, one of AKR's own client businesses — which he built from the ground up using the same Digital Authority system he builds for clients today.
He has worked with over 1,200 small and mid-sized businesses across virtually every service industry — from auto repair and collision shops to roofing companies, plumbers, electricians, concrete crews, restaurants, and medical practices. Not as a coach. As a hands-on operator who has been inside these businesses and knows how they actually run. His focus has always been the same: build websites that people trust, search engines understand, and AI systems can interpret.
Robert was personally selected from more than 1,500 applicants within the Marriott organization to lead a cross-functional team that rewrote the company's operational guidelines — standards Marriott still uses today. He opened hotels from the ground up, managed operations for American Airlines, and built real estate ventures that gave him a deep firsthand understanding of cash flow, capital, and what it actually takes to keep a business alive.
